James A. Grifo, MD, PhD

James A. Grifo, MD, PhD, is a reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist who serves as Program Director of the NYU Langone Fertility Center, Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. His clinical work focuses on assisted reproduction, IVF, fertility preservation, egg freezing, embryo biopsy, and preimplantation genetic testing.

Dr. Grifo earned both his PhD and medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. He completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cornell Medical Center and fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale University. His work helped advance embryo biopsy and preimplantation genetic testing in the United States, and he contributed to development of the NYU vitrification method used in egg freezing.
