Reviews
I am very disappointed with the service at Fertility Barrie. We completed the entire online registration, provided all the information, and they called us back quickly on my husband’s number, saying that they would contact us within 10 days to schedule the appointment. It has now been over a month, and no one has called us. We have tried calling them, but no one answers. This is extremely frustrating, and I am very dissatisfied. We were hoping for professional support, but this did not happen. I will never use this clinic again.”
Wishing we could give this clinic a good review but unfortunately we can’t. My wife and I had a few appointments with Dr.Browning. He was not very friendly and very very pushy. We are seeing another doctor now and he made us realize how poor our experience was with Barrie Fertility. They pushed IUI/ IVF like crazy when in actuality we don’t need either of those things. I highly suggest looking else where for a fertility clinic. This journey is all ready hard enough so to have a rude doctor makes it worse.
I have mixed review of this place. Particularly because I’m pregnant due to their help. But I went through a nightmare on their part, to get here. The Nurses are nice is the only kind thing I have to say. I was called and congratulated on being pregnant, and I kept asking them to confirm. They confirmed and had multiple people yell congrats again. I was placed on hold after saying it’s not possible, I tested at home negative. And they came back and apologized profusely, saying they made a mistake. I hung up and ended up talking to Karen the head nurse later that day. She tried explaining their mistake. Another nurse admitted they were short staffed and very busy Aug 2025. I asked for my print out to understand how my result was misread. And they couldn’t find it’, nor was there any hard copy of it. And I said this cannot happen. I missed the rest of my day at work because of them. It was never brought up again. I continued my next 2 cycles and got pregnant. I’ve been emailed someone else’s name and email, cycle info by mistake. I’m just so disappointed in all the mistakes that kept happening. I will be going elsewhere for my 2nd child, should I wish that for us.
We had a very bad experience. Other than one nurse in the office, the experience was not good. We never got to talk to the doctor or ask any questions about the protocols they prescribed. We were always left with many questions that never got answered. They never answer their phones and don't return calls or e-mails promptly. My wife ended up having a miscarriage after our Beta numbers were out of whack for 3 weeks. They did not set the proper expectation while the Beta results were constantly bad. When we had the miscarriage they did not tell us what to expect and how to handle a miscarriage from a medical care perspective. The whole experience was bad. We also paid for the entire thing. None of our procedures were funded. So from a customer perspective, it was very bad.
If I can give 0 stars I would, I was a patient at Barrie Fertility Clinic from November of last year, and my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. First, I was placed on bromocriptine for months due to what they claimed was “high prolactin.” When I questioned how that could be, the nurse’s first response was, “Could be a tumor.” (Yes, that was actually said to me.) Horrified, I sought second and third opinions elsewhere bloodwork, MRIs, specialist consults all of which came back completely normal. Every single time I had bloodwork done at outside clinics, my prolactin levels were fine. The only place they showed as high was at Barrie Fertility. Later, a specialist confirmed I never had high prolactin at all, calling it either contamination in my blood samples or a mistake by Barrie Fertility. Since it would fluctuate at barrie fertility and everywhere else came back normal, its clear its an error on their end. The specialist also confirmed taking bromocriptine without high prolactin can impact your hormones.. which I've experienced, my hormones were completely imbalanced! On top of that, I paid for a double IUI. My first IUI was with a nurse who seemed utterly unqualified. I believe she injured my uterus during the procedure, whatever she did made me jump out of my skin! She also dropped the syringe on the floor.. I was in severe pain and very sick afterward. After complaining, the 2nd one was done by the head nurse, it was night and day but at that time i was already riddled with inflammation and i knew it wouldnt work. When I complained, the doctor not only dismissed my concerns but arrogantly told me, “people need to learn somehow.” So apparently I was just a guinea pig, yet still charged full price? Only after arguing did he offer a free session, which I couldn’t even take because, according to them, my “prolactin” was always too high. The incompetence didn’t stop there. I later returned for bloodwork and had the same nurse again. I thought, “It’s just blood, what could go wrong?” Answer: everything. She stuck the needle in, left it there, and couldn’t draw blood. I turned pale and nearly fainted as she dug the needle around in my arm for three minutes before finally calling someone else for help. That was the final straw. I never went back, and I certainly didn’t take them up on the so-called “free IUI.” Since then, I’ve spoken to other medical professionals in Barrie who said they would never refer anyone to Barrie Fertility and now I fully understand why. If you are considering this clinic, please, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I switched clinics, and within one month I was pregnant. Barrie Fertility Clinic wasted my time, money, and emotional energy, and I would not recommend them to anyone.
