Reviews

Nurse Jeni was the best. She went out of her way to ease my anxiety and make sure I was feeling good. Couldn’t have asked for a better nurse for such an invasive procedure and high anxiety morning.

I would not recommend this place. If we had any other option for our insurance, we would go elsewhere. The pros: - They successfully created a fetus in my wife. The cons: - From the beginning, RMA was a nightmare to deal with. Their initial cost estimate was wildly off, we ended up paying thousands of more dollars than we anticipated. It took months to coordinate the initial egg retrieval due to poor communication, scheduling difficulties, and general administrative incompetence. - They hyperstimulated my wife during her egg retrieval without discussing the pros and cons of this approach. They did not discuss the possibility of ovarian hyperstimulation with us, leading to a trip to the ER and my wife feeling terrible for a week afterwards. - Our doctor was nice, but the doctor-patient ratio is roughly 10,000:1, which makes communication difficult. Non-medical RMA employees would routinely call us with test results, but would be unable to answer even basic medical questions without reaching out to a nurse/doctor to call us back. - We wasted so, so much time in their waiting rooms. They would routinely see us over 1-1.5 hours after our appointment without apology or acknowledgement of how much time they had just waited. When you multiply this by (conservatively) 50 appointments, you are wasting entire days of your life in their waiting room. - This is small in the grand scheme of things, but they do not provide a comfortable setup for "male specimen collection". I've read about other places that let you be more discrete when you dropoff a specimen. At RMA, it's a public counter where an RMA employee loudly asks you what percentage of your specimen you spilled outside the collection cup. All in all, I would describe RMA as a bad manifestation of our profit-driven healthcare system, and, if you have the option, I would recommend going elsewhere for your fertility needs.

I went to RMA in late 2016. I met Dr. Stein and his team. They took care of me and gave me what I needed especially with getting ASL interpreters. I didn’t have any negative experiences with them. The result is that I have two beautiful healthy girls (twins). My husband and I want to say thank you so much for your support. I would recommend RMA to anyone who wants to have a child(ren). We are forever grateful for you all. Please tell Dr. Stein that we appreciate his support.

I have been patient of RMA of NY (this location) for the last 5 years, yes, the place is usually packed so i'll recommend always bring a book, they used to have a coffee machine (its just water now at least in the 10th floor), BUT most importantly; the doctors, nurses, staff, everyone has been so kind to me! I haven't had any negative experiences... just positive ones! I definitely recommend this place! We have our embryos here and I plan to continue my journey here! ✨💖 Also: they have doctors and nurses and staff that speak Spanish fluently ❤️🙌🏻

Who made me smile today? From Anne at reception to nurse Jeni to the staff in the procedure room (the doctor, anesthesiologist, & nurse Christy)…every single person involved in my egg retrieval today made me feel so comforted & cared for. Not to mention I adore Dr. Canon & her team (nurses, coordinator, financial coordinator) - while I saw others in the practice on monitoring days, I felt that they were with me & attentive to my progress throughout. 10/10 best medical team there is!
