Paula Amato, MD

Paula Amato, MD, is a double board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and reproductive endocrinologist who sees patients at Spring Fertility Portland. She is also Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Oregon Health & Science University.

Dr. Amato earned her medical degree and completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Toronto. She completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California, San Diego.

Her clinical interests include infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome, menopause, LGBTQ+ family building, transgender care, and third-party reproduction. Her research focuses on assisted reproductive technologies used in infertility treatment and ovarian aging. Dr. Amato served as president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine from 2023 to 2024 and is fluent in English and Italian.
