Reviews
Dr Tracey Wilson is great. However, UAB is so ridiculous with pain pills. I asked her if I was going to be in pain after surgery and she lied and said no. I know this to be false, because my cousin had surgery and they refused to give her any pain meds that helped her. The pain was excruciating for her. I'm about to have the same surgery but the place I'm going to is much better about making sure your not in pain before, during, and after surgery. UAB has great equipment and smart doctors and they diagnosed me with a rare disorder that nobody else could figure out. If your lost then go to them and they will figure out what's wrong with you. However they are too strict with pain pills so keep that in mind when getting surgery with them. I suggest you go to UAB for diagnosis and then somewhere else for surgery and procedures.
I had a serious problem and I'd called them to confirm if they could help me. They said they could help me with my personal issue, so I'd schedule an appointment and go there. After a 12+ hour drive, I got there and then said there's nothing they can do about my personal problem. Now I have a 500+ doctor's bill because they lied, and I'd gained nothing from this BS. I did email them to see if we could work something out, but they didn't even care to respond.
My father had a surgery with urology this week. The doctor that originally wrote his written pain med prescription was not authorized to do so per the pharmacy, so he went without meds the night of his surgery. He was supposed to have more pain meds sent in due to a complication at his follow-up appt. The resident on call today, Irassema Pastor, lied and said the pharmacy was rejecting the prescription and sending it back (they donât do this). Then Pastor stated that they probably donât fill narcotics over the weekend. Which is also a lie, I spoke with the pharmacist directly. Now she is not returning any calls/pages. This has been very poor patient care and service.
Dr. Funk and his staff are excellent. He is very thorough I am glad I found them and so far they have all been professional.
I'm Tamar Brock and I have a stint that is causing me so much pain that I can't sleep at night and I am unable to cook dinner for my family. I can hardly walk. I'm so uncomfortable that my husband has to dress me and push me around in a wheelchair. I am in so much pain that I cried out of frustration at my appointment with urology. I have a nephrology bag/tube and they didn't give me any flush (I ran out) or dressing for my nephrology bag. I had to have a meltdown at my (plus they were very rude)appointment to get some pain meds. Meanwhile I have run out of pain meds again. I'm supposed to have a procedure to take out the stint and I requested that they give me enough until I have the procedure to take the stint out...Icalled today. They have not responded and I am feeling horrible. I suggest if you need surgery or any kind of procedure don't go to Kirkland clinic urology. They will not take proper care of you at all. They will let you suffer in pain. I have never in all my 51 years been treated so bad. I regret going to UAB. I have been having issues since October of last year. The negligence in this case has been in the care of Liz nurse practitioner/ Dr. Cook. My whole family is upset behind this. DO NOT GO HERE. THE DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS.
