My wife has been undergoing fertility treatments for the past year, and in that time we’ve been to two different fertility clinics. Fertility treatment can be emotionally exhausting — the medications, the appointments, the uncertainty, the disappointment, and the pressure to somehow keep showing up positive and hopeful through all of it. At the Twig Fertility Eglinton location, there is someone at the front desk named Charlie who genuinely stands out as one of the most compassionate people we have encountered throughout this entire journey. Charlie has something that cannot be trained easily: real empathy. Not performative kindness. Not scripted customer service. Genuine care. My wife came into an appointment recently feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, and honestly emotionally drained from everything this process involves. Charlie immediately recognized it. She didn’t make my wife feel like she needed to put on a brave face or pretend to be cheerful. She made her feel seen. Heard. Safe. Human. You can tell from the way Charlie speaks to patients and the way she looks at them when they talk that she truly cares about what they are going through. She listens. She checks in. She creates comfort in moments that can otherwise feel incredibly isolating. People underestimate how important that is in fertility care, but it matters deeply. Women walking into these clinics are often carrying heartbreak, fear, grief, stress, and hope all at once. Charlie fills an emotional gap that many people in healthcare simply do not. Twig is already an excellent clinic, but people like Charlie are what elevate a place from “good healthcare” to truly exceptional patient care. She deserves recognition for the impact she is having on patients. We genuinely hope she continues to grow and rise within Twig because she has the emotional intelligence, compassion, and leadership qualities that make organizations stronger. Thank you, Charlie. Thanks to them, I was able to conceive my second child. I had been to other clinics before where I didn’t feel comfortable, but they truly made the difference. I felt heard and cared for, and their approach was much more personalized. I never felt pressured into any treatment—they guided me thoughtfully and respectfully every step of the way. I personally preferred the downtown location, as it was smaller and felt more personal—you really got to know the team. That said, many of the downtown staff also worked at the midtown location, and some services were only available there. The care at both locations was equally excellent. I have nothing but appreciation, respect, and gratitude for the entire team.
