Reviews

SRM Fertility in Spokane exceeded my expectations. Every appointment has been a pleasant experience, and I always felt like a valued patient. The customer service is truly exceptional & the staff are always friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. I wholeheartedly recommend SRM Fertility to anyone looking for a supportive and professional fertility clinic. I especially want to acknowledge Christie Hume, who is absolutely amazing. She always took the time to answer our questions thoroughly, explain the process in detail, and address any concerns we had. We felt like she genuinely cared about our success.

Dr. Houmard's practices raise significant ethical concerns and detract from the integrity of our profession. She charges patients $300 for an initial consultation, yet neglects to review their medical records or reports. Furthermore, she tends to avoid patients who may impact her success metrics. Look to Seattle, Boise, or SLC for numerous other reproductive medicine specialists who demonstrate genuine compassion and commitment to their patients’ well-being. The SRM business model leaves out any support of their patients.

Two unprofessional appointments in a row has resulted in us leaving this clinic for another one. Our most recent IUI procedure was performed by two younger employees who both seemed unsure of how to perform the procedure and it felt like they were essentially "winging it". For reference it took four attempts over the span of 30 minutes when our first two procedures performed by ARNP Hume were one attempt each and in and out in approximately five minutes. Side note we love working with ARNP Hume. She is very professional and kind and we have no negative experiences with her. More recently we had a consultation with Dr. Houmard. She came to the meeting late and unprepared. She was obviously reading the chart notes for the first time as she was speaking to us. Additionally the chart notes didn't accurately reflect the procedures we had already completed, missing our most recent visit from 2 months prior.

We had a wonderful experience with SRM, Dr Houmard and the entire staff. We welcomed our baby boy via IVF in August of this year. The staff was very supportive throughout the entire process, quick to respond to questions and knowledgeable. They provide all the materials and calendars and walk you through every step. Dr Houmard guided us on what was best for our family and we felt supported throughout it all. I don't live in Spokane and they were very accommodating with providing meetings over zoom, working with my local clinics for monitoring and not requiring a ton of travel to their location. The staff was so kind when I was there. This can be an emotional and difficult process, and I really believe who you work with can make such a difference in your experience. I'd highly recommend them!

I wish I could give zero stars. Over 10 years ago my husband and I (we were young) went in to find out why we weren’t getting pregnant and sat down with a consultant. We thoroughly went over everything and were promised that the initial blood tests would be covered and not billed fertility because it’s considered normal. We scheduled a procedure for me and one for him to find out what was going on. The day before my appointment I was told I owed a large sum of money for the blood test and it need to be paid in cash. They sent it in as fertility and not routine and refused to change it although they told us before committing it would be covered. We had to cancel both procedures because we couldn’t pay for that and both of our procedures. We had a plan and that huge bill was outside the budget. That derailed our fertility journey for quite some years and we never went back because we were discouraged. (Because of our wait it has made it harder due to our age and I am upset that I let them cost us those years). Fast forward we’ve been doing IVF with another facility and for several reasons wanted to try them again based on others recommendations. We’ve been through the wringer and have embryos we’ve adopted we want to transfer. We were told that to switch doctors, there’d be an administrative fee of $1500 no matter what. When I questioned what it was for she had no answer except that it needed to be in cash and wouldn’t be billed. We have done the testing, blood work, adopted the embryos and dotted all the paperwork. We just need to do a transfer and have the funds to do that. It’s bad enough that most of these IVF companies have pristine expensive offices but are okay with taking advantage of people who are already in tough situations. There’s no administrative needed as we have done everything ahead of time and there’s absolutely no way one procedure will cost $1500 of administrative time. I was right to leave the first time and thought maybe after so many bad reviews and after time had passed they would treat their patients better. But this is absolutely criminal and feel as though they take advantage of fertility couples.
