Newfoundland and Labrador Fertility Services (NLFS) provides provincial outpatient diagnosis and treatment of fertility issues for adults across Newfoundland and Labrador. Services include pre-conception counselling, fertility investigations, follicular tracking for timed intercourse and insemination cycles, medication teaching, early-pregnancy assessment,
prenatal care, on-site sperm-banking consultations and coordination of egg-banking referrals. For IVF, frozen embryo transfer and other assisted-reproduction procedures, NLFS arranges out-of-province referrals and provides satellite monitoring and follow-up in a shared-care model. The program also administers the provincial fertility subsidy. A referral from
a physician or nurse practitioner is required; self-referrals are not currently accepted.
