Reviews

Posting this review anonymously because I'm genuinely afraid of Dr. Shifren, but it needs to be said so other women and expecting parents know. The other reviews are correct. Do NOT go here. You are a number on a sheet of paper & any discussion about your care is shut down or brushed aside and seems a nuisance for the team to handle. There are absolutely a few exceptions to this rule among the nursing staff but without doctors who care, this clinic is unpredictable and traumatizing. - questions were addressed days later and never fully answered - didn't know the full details of my plans until minutes before retrieval - when clarification questions were asked at that time Dr. Shifren responded "No, this is not up for discussion" - asked a different nurse after and she explained that what I was told earlier was incorrect - asked a separate nurse during the cycle several questions about viability and live birth statistics and was told this was "variable and data did not exist" only to find an entire course available through my employer dedicated to these research studies later You will be your own healthcare provider if you go here. You will feel helpless and unsupported. I would feel better acknowledged if I was dog poop on the bottom of a shoe. I saw these reviews and thought people were being dramatic. Take your precious time, money, and energy elsewhere, please.

We have been working with MGH's fertility center for well over a year. The communication has been absolutely horrendous and deeply unprofessional. We have missed multiple cycles due to communication issues, MGH allowing our testing to lapse without telling us, and issues with MGH requesting insurance authorization. We have been contacted by MGH multiple times with claims that our insurance has denied coverage and that we need to immediately do something only to contact our insurance and discover that the approval was already sent. Then, when we contact MGH to say that our insurance is telling us something different, no one can be bothered to respond in any way. Don't let the affiliation with a major hospital fool you as it did us. The fertility clinic will run you through a million hoops only to make you wait months before moving forward with your fertility plan. Oh, and let's not forget that they will happily take your money the entire time.

I cannot recommend the fertility team at MGH enough. This past June I had a large ovarian cyst and it’s removal resulted in the loss of the right ovary and fallopian tube and blockage of my left fallopian tube. This means that my only way of getting pregnant is through IVF. My head fertility doctor is Dr. Shifren and she is so lovely and knowledgeable. The whole team at MGH is kind and helpful and I feel like I am in great hands, which is especially comforting during (what can be) a very stressful time. Thank you!

We had an amazing experience at the fertility center at MGH, which gave us our beautiful baby girl. We worked with Dr. Souter (who was wonderful), but saw many other physicians and nurses during our IVF journey. The entire team was extremely kind and wonderful during a very stressful journey. We also had several major issues with our insurance and their Practice Manager, Gladys Muñoz, was amazing at helping us resolve these issues. We can't thank the MGH team enough!

The team at the clinic is amazing! Dr. Petrozza met with my husband and I and listened to all our concerns. He ordered all tests and the nurses followed up with us after EACH result to discuss. I needed a small procedure and the NP Barbara was so nice and caring! They respond to all my messages on the app and call me if needed! I really felt taken care of at the clinic and appreciate every one of them!
