Reviews
4 star only because my last night in the hospital was an experience I did not want to have. I had heart stent procedure and the doctors were amazing and very professional. My nurse who was looking after me was just one angel and extremely professional. On my last day I met two kid brain and young , who wanted to be a nurse or studying to become a doctor. These to ( one female and one male). These two were assigned to the heart department, which is a very serious place to be. The male nurse was laughing at me, because of the reaction I had after waking up from anesthetic treatment, and the female who was flirting with the male nurse from the time their shift started, was ignoring me and other patients. I asked her for water and I waited one hour to have a glass of water, but she never showed up. I called her again and she showed very bad attitude. I told my main nurse about them and she really did not like what she heard. I hope those two and other like them will be under investigation and be fired immediately.
I was so scared about my surgery, and still reeling from my accident, an accident so benign, so every day, that it could've happened to any of us. It took many painful trips to my local ER and an MRI, to isolate the problem, there were a few of them building over the years. It was serious, and was most concerning at my c6/7. For sake of brevity, ill just say I needed emergent care. Kingston Hospitsl is where our local PHRC refers to. All the big brains are in Kingston Hospital. Hands down, my experience, the staff from sign-in registration to student assistants, the nurses to staff, have got it figured out in this unit, Kidd 7 Neuro wing. Good and caring and patient, no mean girls here, just cohesion, all of them. I really felt like i was cared for, and i was a handful at times. Dr. Cook, who they call DJ, is a Pace Setter. No titles here, these Neurosurgeons are the Top of the food chain. Dr. Cook (nickname DJ), is a man of few words, doesn't hold your hand or pat you on your bedhead, that's what their awesome staff does.... he's strategic, and gets the job, Done. I saw him call the plays, stands as the coach and quarterback on the field. He told me what he was going to do, yet was so surprisingly flexible, just ask him. He was so quick to make things happen, his staff too, like an old school Fixer, which was amazing for me to be a part of. I asked if he could perform a newer style surgery, that I'd sure feel better about it, over the Gold standard tried & true, and he said, yes, absolutely. It was like i ordered the Premium Interior package with the Autobiography Trim kit. He was Brilliant, walked into the surgery room like an understated Boss, was in & out in 2 hours. I'd like to make special mention also to Dr. Hoo, the unshakable rock veteran anesthesiologist, that made me feel so assured and relieved with the last of my peculiar concerns, that going into surgery, with these two titans, Dr. Hoo and DJ, I really felt like i had the Best. 5 STAR. Woke up pain free, after a long nightmare.
I had my delivery at KGH Hospital, and I truly cannot put my gratitude into words. From the very beginning, the doctors, nurses, and staff treated me with so much care, patience, and kindness. They supported me at every step and made me feel safe and confident during such an important time of my life. After delivery, the care given to my baby in the Kids Ward touched my heart deeply. Every small detail, every little need of my baby was handled with so much love and attention. This entire journey will always remain close to my heart and will be remembered forever. I am deeply thankful to KGH Hospital and the entire staff from the bottom of my heart for making this experience so beautiful and memorable.
Very rude staff. Poor communication throughout the staff which leads to dangerous mistakes. & What kind of nurse tells an old man “if you fall on the floor I’m not helping you” only at Kingston hospitals. You have the most rude and ignorant staff. If you hate your job that should never become the patients problem. No patient should be made to feel they cannot hit their call button or ask for help, otherwise the nurse scowls at them. Fix your staffs attitude. Respect goes both ways. You’re at work not your house. - I’ve also had a stillbirth here years ago and they left more placenta inside me than they took out. They never pushed on my stomach. I was fully neglected once the baby was out of me.
I want to sincerely thank all the nurses in the pediatric floor. Everyone one of you made my daughters ICU stay warm and loving for her and I this past weekend. All the nurses went and above and beyond for her and I. Now some of the emergency room nurses and a few doctors were horrible to deal with. If you are going to talk about a patient loudly and then look at the mom and say she's the worst parent ever, please know the full story before you open your mouths. It is very unprofessional to discuss a patient that is 7 years old loudly and with all the nursing staff in a department, especially if you are not assigned this case. Very disgusted with the way the ER staff conduct themselves.
