Reviews

I went through two failed rounds of IVF at this clinic. I had a horrible experience. The first time I responded well to protocols but ovulated early which is extremely rare. I walked into my egg retrieval with excruciating pain and was still made to walk over to the operating room bed while experiencing this pain. I told several people that day I was in a lot of pain. After the egg retrieval, The doctor I had walked into our room, told me I ovulated early, never even acknowledged my husband, and stated she had another surgery to get to. There was no compassion and never once did she reach out to my husband or I for the entire second cycle. Even after this horrible experience we decided to give this clinic another chance. I felt I was over suppressed the second time and they were afraid of me ovulating again but still yielded poor outcomes. I even reached out to the clinic to ask for an adjustment in my protocol as I was not responding as well as I did the first time and my concerns went ignored. I know that IVF does not guarantee anything but I felt unseen and ignored on various occasions. I actually feel like we could have had better outcomes if our concerns were addressed. I felt like a number instead of a patient. I say this to say that I have several friends at other clinics in Houston whose team are way more involved in their care. They are ensuring they are on the right supplements and checking fragmentation of sperm and offering medications to improve morphology and egg quality to achieve the highest level of success prior to IVF. My husband and I were not offered any of these things either times. It may cost us more to seek out other clinics but I rather go somewhere where I’m seen as a person, my concerns are addressed and I matter.

I cannot express the gratitude I have for this fertility center. After a rough go at a different fertility clinic I came here. Dr. Huang was confident in every step of the process that I would get pregnant. I know that every patient is different and won’t get results but his confidence made me hopeful even if it didn’t work. Always answered my questions. Nurse Bobbie replied always that day. I am lucky and it did work for me. But even if it didn’t the kindness here can’t be outmatched. Thank you for everything.

If i could give zero stars i would! I originally started my fertility journey (February 2024) at The Texas Family Fertility Cetner at Chi St. Lukes in the The Woodlands because it was closer to my home. However, I would also have to go to the The Family Fertility Center at Texas Fertility Pavilion for Women on main street in Houston, Texas. My doctor was Dr. Leah Schenk. Dr. Leah Schenk charged me a lot of money to run test and to see if my body could actually go through the egg freezing fertility. Her receptionist Susie Martinez sent me an email and stated that my bill was over 20k even though my insurance “win fertility” was covering the entire procedure. She told me (lied) to me and advised Win fertility did not cover any of the charges. Win fertility had to call and write a letter personally to let her know I was covered, and I was only to pay my deductible. Susie Martinez never apologized, never acknowledged her mistake, or even gave a discount for the unprofessionalism she exhibited. I should have canceled my treatment immediately, but I didn’t. That was my mistake, proceeding with such ignorant and heartless unprofessional people. After all my test came back Dr Schenk informed me that I, THIRTY-SIX (36) year old women was perimenopausal and was not a candidate for egg freezing. I was devasted. I was told by my insurance to get a second opinion. Turns out since I had been on birth control for over 10 years, and I was just taken off at the direction of Dr Schenk my body had not acclimated yet, so the results and blood work were not correct. The new doctors reran my test after waiting 3 months until my cycle became regular again and I have since went through egg retrieval and retrieved 13 eggs and also, I am NOWHERE near “perimenopausal”. I would highly recommend not using Dr. Leah Schenk, her assistant Susie Martinez or Texas Children Fertility because of their in adequacies. Also, I just found out that the woodlands location has since been closed permanently, and rightfully so, they don’t have the adequate staff to take care such a sensitive issue.

Hands down, this is the best fertility spot. If you want to have the highest chances of having a baby(s) come here. You won't regret it. Just be aware that, unless you are planning on paying CASH and not using insurance, you will have constant billing issues. The billing department is the biggest nightmare I have ever encountered. Susie at the Fertility Center is amazing and was so helpful in all of my many grievances, but the people who are actually in charge of billing are horrible. I was overcharged, told a retrieval was not covered the night before bc of a test i failed to do on a specific date (later they fixed the issue, but you can imagine the stress), would receive endless bills ranging from $5-10,000 after procedures (constant calls trying to figure out what it was for), the list goes on...they tell you a certain number and then it grows and changes constantly. The stress you encounter on top of the stress you are already undergoing with all the IVF drugs is really bad. Be prepared to make this your full time job. With that being said, Nurse Bobbie is incredible. She is the best nurse you will ever meet in your life and I really give her all the credit for my pregnancy. I believe all the Dr's are amazing as well, Dr.Zarutskie, Dr.Schutt, amongst others. They are all so detailed, talk to you thoroughly, give you the utmost attention in answering any questions and concerns, the nurses get back to you right away through the portal, the means of communication with all your records are extremely well organized, they talk to you about everything (what to expect, specific options, extra options, different approaches)... I cannot say enough great things. Super professional. I had a friend that went somewhere else and was so jealous of all the extra info i received, that she didnt. Throughout all my many procedures, the nurses in the back with the surgeries were top notch. It really felt like a luxury experience. The Drs and nurses are INCREDIBLE!!! it's so sad that the billing department is so inept and causes so much stress and confusion on patients. The IVF process is so expensive as it is and this process through TEXAS CHILDREN'S will drain you with their constant whip-lash in what you owe. I will always go back bc I love the dr's, the facility and nurse Bobbie, but just be prepared for the stress associated with the financial part.

Left in tears if that tells you anything. Had an appointment to be seen by a fertility specialist for two months. Took off work on a Wednesday, navigated all over Houston, paid for parking, etc., just to get told by the rude, apathetic reception desk that "they've been trying to contact me to tell me my appointment was cancelled since the provider is out." I then state I did not receive a message and she said my voicemail was full. I am sorry but this was an extremely urgent message to get out to me before I go through the hassle. I told her it is very hard to answer the phone during the day because I am a teacher and have students all day, everyday. We asked if they email or text notices and she said NOT for cancellations. I find that ironic because I sure did get an email for everything else they needed for me such as a confirmation of apt, billing, etc the Morning OF the apt. I couldn't even reschedule, I had to walk out because this is a very emotional time for us and it was handled very unfortunately and unapologetically.
