We were looking at multiple fertility clinics in the area when we decided to have our second one, and this one didn't make the cut. Right away they muddled up the details of my wife's appointment, so we decided to pass. Moreover, unlike the clinic we chose to work with, which just charged a reasonable amount up-front, CFA workers didn't provide us with any information about the price of the initial (Zoom) consultation costs: they just told us they will charge our insurance and that we shouldn't worry about it. The claim was denied for unknown reasons -- and we got slapped with a $405 bill two months after the fact -- for a 30 minute measly Zoom call, which wasn't even with the doctor herself. Then I spent a whole week and 5-6 phone calls trying to get the person responsible for the account to call me back -- which she never did.

My initial visit with the doctor was good, however I have never had a worse customer service experience than with Columbia fertility associates. I can never get an answer on the phone or messages. I strongly recommend that you go somewhere else for treatment.

Run. I do not recommend CFA. From poor bedside manners to billing errors and a lack of empathy, my experience was horrible. I underwent two IVF cycles and two PRPs with Dr. Abbasi, and each was stressful and chaotic. The clinic fails to educate, set expectations, or keep patients informed. At every appointment, I had to ask for details about my progress, only to be told by Dr. Abbasi or her nurse, Iman, to wait for lab results. When the results came in, no one explained them unless I repeatedly followed up. I felt rushed during appointments, and my questions were often dismissed or half-answered. During my first IVF cycle, I contacted Nurse Gigi for help administering my medication. Instead of calling me, she texted incomplete instructions and eventually told me to figure it out the next day. On Christmas Day, I received a heartbreaking email from Iman about my IVF progress—no call, just an email. Billing was another nightmare. CFA requested a $6K disbursement from my fertility loan for an IVF cycle that didn’t fully happen, and it took over three months to refund me, causing unnecessary interest charges. My inquiries to resolve this issue lacked urgency. I must note that Khadija was very helpful in navigating health insurance benefits. The clinic is disorganized and inefficient. For instance, I was told to purchase two vials of sperm because they didn’t realize I already had one stored at the clinic—another costly mistake. The final straw was Dr. Abbasi giving me incorrect information about my initial numbers and starting me on a new IVF cycle without explaining why the previous one failed or the rationale behind the new protocol. Many of my emails went ignored. Initially, I thought this disorganization was just part of the fertility process. However, after switching to a new clinic, I’ve learned a fertility experience can be seamless, supportive, and organized—everything CFA is not.

We had a terrible experience here. The staff was extremely unorganized and communication was terrible. Dr. Abasi was fine to work with, but you shouldn't go to her if you are looking for any kind of bedside manner. We froze embryos and were given very little instruction or information on the process. Financial billing was a mess because they couldn't figure out how to bill properly through our insurance (BCBS of MA). None of the embryos were viable, so it was a complete waste of time and money. Trying Shady Grove next.

Coming to this office has been a horrible experience for me. When coming to a specialty office, or any office I expect high quality patient care. That simply does not exist here. Multiple times I have had to walk to the practice because no one answered or returned my phone calls. The admin team is not welcoming at all. They don't even acknowledge you when you enter the office. Management is by far the worst. I've overheard people on the other end of the phone saying things such as "that girl don't listen". The office manager even intentionally hung up on me over a billing disagreement. I've addressed my issues with the doctors at this practice and there was never any resolution. Insurance and billing was a major hassle. Multiple times I had to provide details about my insurance and follow up on my claims. I would not recommend anyone to the practice because I didn't not feel like I was valued and honestly, they do not show any sence of care here. The only positive experience I had was with with Brandy, who assisted me with a procedure. This was the first time I noticed someone who smiled in this office. She was very caring and I truly appreciated working with her even though it was only one procedure. The lady who draws blood was also pleasant as well. She is very polite and you can see she loves what she does. Overall, it was a nightmare being a patient at this practice. It is conveniently located near my job which is why I chose to come here. I am now seeking treatment somewhere else.
