About Gianpiero D. Palermo, M.D.

Gianpiero D. Palermo, M.D., is Professor of Embryology in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Blavatnik Family Professor of Reproductive Medicine at the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell. He has served as Director of Assisted Fertilization and Andrology since 1993.

Dr. Palermo earned his medical degree from the University of Bari Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and a Ph.D. in Reproduction and Development from Monash University. He completed residency and fellowship training at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. His work includes intracytoplasmic sperm injection, andrology, reproductive genetics, IVF, male and female infertility, cryopreservation, and assisted reproductive technology.
