Reviews

I waited a few years to rate because I didn’t want my lack of success to shade my rating. I have worked with two other clinics in Colorado since working with Alabama Fertility, so I have a better sense of things. First, I am grateful that Alabama has a decent fertility clinic that is super open to working with all types of patients. My doctor, Dr. Bouknight, was very kind and professional and the staff, especially ultrasound techs, were great in person. However, I am not sure I was given the best advice, and I had MANY problems with the IVF financial folks and some with nurses. I was not given good guidance or videos on how to administer medications and the nurses didn’t call back after monitoring in a timely manner. I was left at my dining room table, worrying about my results, with the instructions out trying to figure it out for myself. This is not usual; other clinics have been great about this. I was also given zero guidance on exercise restrictions and diet during my IVF cycle and my IVF coordinator was very unresponsive. There were constant communication problems with finance and a complete lack of empathy in that department. Incorrect bills for thousands of dollars were mailed to me before they went through insurance, which caused unnecessary stress during a time when I was supposed to be staying calm. An IVF cycle was also canceled due to some kind of missing test, which they (someone? Insurance?) should have been on top of. Because of an insurance change and move, this was my last chance to use my own eggs to achieve a pregnancy and I was completely heartbroken, overwhelmed, and angry. Looking back, I give three stars because the medical staff was very good and I received caring treatment, but the logistical side, especially for IVF, was pretty rough. I hope others have had better experiences.

Called for an appointment as suggested by our OB, explained what we were wanting and what we had read online, they scheduled us knowing they couldn’t help us, wasted all of our time then charged us and our insurance for what could have been a “we cannot do that but look into a more advanced office/state” phone call. Wasn’t going to review but after the bill came, it’s just rude to waste our time and the doctors time whereas if they just listened to the consult or read the paperwork they would have known prior to making us come in twice.

This is a wonderful clinic! You may not see your doctor each time you have an appointment, but that's just standard with other fertility clinics plus their nurse practitioners are awesome! Going through a loss and Megan the nurse practitioner with Yvonne has been so kind with me. Megan gave me a hug today and that meant so much to me. I don't have my baby yet, but I'm very hopeful that it will happen with their help. My doctor is Dr. McLean and she has been kind and understanding.

This was a learning experience if you go to a clinic that is money motivated. I was a patient and couldn't believe that I never meet my doctor only nurse practitioners. How unprofessional that my first visit was my doctor nurse practitioner and after that a different person each time. I asked a nurse if they can make letrozole a stronger dosage since my embryo was only one. I was told no so I ask why are we doing the same thing if I'm not getting any results. I changed fertility doctors and that was the best decision ever made because that doctor I saw every time I went to the doctor and will change my medication if I'm not getting pregnant. Don't waste your money or time with this clinic.

We had an amazing experience here! We had Dr. Mann and she was great. Very thorough and would take the time to answer all my questions and explain in a way I could actually understand. Faith was my main IVF coordinator and she was so sweet and empathetic so special shout out to her as well. Everyone we encountered in our care was great.
